Difficulty to find a standard class to use.

Post by Tj-Shredder »

I am using Lyx as a normal user and avoid all hacking in real life. Command line attitude is the opposite of what I want to deal with...

My Problem:
I need to write articles mostly, but any article class I came across is missing something any article class would need and should have: Subtitles.
Is there a class which I could simply use without thinking about it?
When I read articles in the real world, I'd say 85% of them have subtitles. But it seems 0% of the Lyx classes allow subtitles...

I am confused at best...

I am sure all the specialists here know exactly how to extend an existing class with whatever they need. I don't, and I think the standard class should have all, people like me would possibly need...

Anyway, I can't wait until the next release implements subtitles for all classes (If there is a title, you need subtitles always, no exception...)

But maybe I just missed something obvious...

Any help is appreciated...

Stefan

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

It's for sure that not everybody shares this opinion. Try KOMA Script and read its manual.

Best regards and welcome to the board
