Document compilation from web...

I am trying to create a web page from which a user can activate a compilation of a LaTeX document that is lying on my server. (Something I wrote myself i.e. No worries about sanitizing user input, but with the name of the user in the header of each page)

The server is running OS X, a fully functional MikTex installation (the MacTex package) and the built-in Apache server.

I'm a total newbie to cgi-scripting, so would anyone have the patience to explain to me (or point me to a guide on) how I should proceed with this?

I'm not familiar with cgi either and I also can't point you to a guide. However, I did find some website that offered online compilation of LaTeX code. Maybe you can contact the owners of the following sites:
