Linking several documents with Lyx 1.6
Hi, I am writing a thesis and I am thinking of making each chapter a separate document, to make it easier to manage. I am using Lyx 1.6. Is there any way to do this and to link together the 5-9 separate documents into one thesis at the end? They will all be using the same bibtex file. Obviously, I'd want numbering (pages, sections, figures, references) to be consistent throughout the 'end product' document.

In LyX:
Help > Additional Features, section 3.2: "Multipart Documents".
Help > Embedded Objects, section 6.2: "Child Documents."
There were some posts about this before. Try searching for terms "master" or "child" in LyX section of this forum.

Thanks. I am new to LyX and am a novice with LaTeX and like most things, if you are new you sometimes don't even know which words to use to look things up
.
It is explained very well in section 6.2 Child Documents of the Embedded Objects manual.

So, if the problem is solved with that, then please mark the topic accordingly as written in the Board Rules (to be read before posting).Paul Richards wrote:[…] It is explained very well in section 6.2 Child Documents of the Embedded Objects manual.
