pdfpages invokes TXC GUI problem / feature request
Compiling pdflatex=> pdf, but return no pages and error is "GUI framework cannot initialized"
The problem was because I am behind the company firewall (username/password needed), I did set D/L the package on the fly. But compiling in TXC will not ask me to enter my username/password, also cannot save it! The worst thing is PDFPAGES includes other packages to D/L! i.e. even I manually D/L pdfpages, still not working.
Solution would be(or feature to be requested) are:
- Detailed debug info in log file needed, even within used packages (including other packages)
- username/password to remember for people working behind a firewall(company internal network)

where and when exactly do you think should you be prompted to enter a login and password?

pdfpages invokes TXC GUI problem / feature request
A well known problem with TXC1 RC1 [1]. So you may try the current alpha version (TXC2 alpha 3). You (or your administrator) might consider a full installation.steinchen wrote:[...] Compiling pdflatex=> pdf, but return no pages and error is "GUI framework cannot initialized" [...]
The issue seems not to be related to TeXnicCenter (TXC). But you are free to describe more precise what you mean with that[...] - Detailed debug info in log file needed, even within used packages (including other packages) [...]
Not a task for TXC at all since this should be mastered by the operating system.[...] - username/password to remember for people working behind a firewall(company internal network)

Re: pdfpages invokes TXC GUI problem / feature request
I can add that I have two PCs (1 desktop PC and 1 laptop) with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. The automatic installation of a package does not work on my desktop pc, while it works perfectly normal on my laptop.
I have MikTeX 2.9 and TXC RC 1 installed on both machines, even in the exact same paths (concerning folders).
I only have my Windows firewall activated on both machines (although with the lowest security settings possible, IIRC).
If there is anything else I could add, just tell me.
Re: pdfpages invokes TXC GUI problem / feature request
as mentioned by OP, the problem concerns only installation of packages behind a firewall(windows or mostly company firewall). The only solution would be asking MIKTEX to take internet browser's connection setting, so that people don't need to enter any password and username. (The most difficult is to find out correct company proxy IP etc.)
So in short, it is a feature request.
