code line numbers

Hi,

I always receive the problem of error at line xxx. Is there a way which I can see line numbers on the left hand side of the code? I just need the line numbers to be displayed on the left of the code and not in the output.

It might help if you mentioned what editor you're using. The question is a little hard to answer otherwise.

I am currently using TeXnicCenter.
