Author names are missing

Post by hajime »

Hello. I am using latex and bibtex on the Mac. I noticed that sometimes when papers of the same author are being cited, sometimes the author-list becomes --. For example:

References
:
:
[9] S. Cohen, "Title of paper1," International Journal of Computer, vol.9, pp.62-82, 1990
[10] - -, "Title of paper 2", International Conference on CG, vol.1, pp 12-34, 1992

Anybody knows what is going on and how to fix the problem? Thanks.

Some BibTeX styles do this deliberately: which one do you use?

Now that the problem is solved, please be so kind and mark the topic (not the last post) accordingly as clearly written in Section 3 of the Board Rules (to be read before posting). Please keep that in mind for the future so that further reminders will not be necessary.
