cite.sty not found

Post by omersz »

Hi,
I'm trying to use the cite package, I'm runing texinc center. I get an error: "file cite.sty not found". Question 1: how do I download this package and from where ? Question 2: How do I activate the "on the fly" installation of packages ?

Thanks,

Omer.

We need to know what LaTeX distribution you're using. MikTeX? If so, you should be able to install packages through its package manager. If you want to enable automatic package installation, see its manual.

1. Thanks for replying.
2. I have MikTex 2.8, I went to the manual, but I don't understand where to insert the commands, such as --enable-installer
3. I did see that I have in the MikTex directory a package manager, but I'm not sure on how to operate it.
4. The final question is this: suppose I want to manually install a package every time I miss it. Can I do so ? How ?
5. Thanks again !

Omer.

Take a close look at the according chapter of the MiKTeX manual to learn all important things about the maintenance of the system [1]. It will answer all your questions. No need to fidget on the command line.
