Cross-referencing long-table captions

Post by domwoolf »

Hi, I'm a LyX newbie, so apologies if this is a trivial problem, but I have not been able to track down an answer anywhere yet...

In order to create a caption for long-tables in my document, I have used the 'dirty hack' recommended here http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Tables#longtab-cap

This works great - I get a caption appearing at the top of each page of the long table with a table number and title. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to cross-reference to this caption from elsewhere in the document. I would like to be able to say elsewhere something like "As in table ??" and have LaTeX automatically fill in the table number. I guess this is something to do with the fact that long tables cannot be 'floats' and LyX will only cross-reference to floats?

Any help greatly appreciated :P

Cross-referencing long-table captions

I've managed to find the answer to this problem. The trick is simply to embed a label within the caption - then everything works fine.
