Root Folder From Command Line

Post by remusmp »

Hej,

Is there a way to add a root folder from command line? Without the use of the GUI - as it is described in the manual.

Thanks.
Remus.

Your question is rather obscure (at least to me). What do you mean by "root folder"?

Root Folder From Command Line

Post by remusmp »

Hi,

If you go to Settings->Roots Tab you can add a texmf folder where you could keep some of your classes, templates (files) etc. Latex will search in these folders and I use it because I have lots common resources throughout my reports and I do not want to copy them in every folder. The manual shows a way to do it using the GUI but I haven't seen any command line argument for it. I would like to distribute my templates to other people and do a script that would add that folder to the root list.

I did it by writing a registry entry but I would like to know if miktex has a command line option for it. That would simplify everything.

Thanks.
