DVI problem: type <enter>?

Post by Gabbe »

Hello, it is first time I try to use Lyx. When I klick on DVI, I get the message:
\usepackage
{color}
The package inputenc has already been loaded with options:
[utf8x]
There has now been an attempt to load it with options
[latin9]
Adding the global options:
utf8x,latin9
to your \documentclass declaration may fix this.
Try typing <return> to proceed.
and
\renewenvironment{lyxgreyedout}

Try typing <return> to proceed.
If that doesn't work, type X <return> to quit.
:roll:
DVI works well sith the Tutorial and the UerGuide, but not with my own files.
Please, tell me, where shall I type <enter>?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Typing enter is not the solution to your problem. There's something wrong with the documents themselves. Where did you get these documents? Are they imported LaTeX files? Did you create them yourself in LyX? If so, using what templates? Did you modify the template, or the premable of the document in any way?

Thank you frabjous. It was a very simple document, I followed the basic tutorial wrote 1 line and wanted to see the result. We never will know the answer because I installed a new LyX and it works. Excuse me that I didn't deleted my message. Lyx is fantastic.

If the problem is solved now, please be so kind and mark the topic (not the last post) accordingly as clearly written in the Board Rules (to be read before posting). Please keep that in mind for the future so that further reminders will not be necessary.

Best regards and welcome to the board
