Looking for a class / template

Post by maxbo »

Hello, I need a class or a template for a book about maths and coding. I have already checked all LyX's classes and templates, but they look so old and ugly. I need something that looks modern and pretty. Can you help me?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

I think it would help to know what it is you found "old and ugly" about the regular book class. Is it just the fonts -- those can be changed easily enough.

I don't have LyX installed right now. Does LyX come with templates for scrbook (KOMA-script book) and/or memoir? Those are very customizable.

Thanks frabjous for your suggestion. LyX has a class named KOMA-script book, but I don't know how to customize it, and I have no time to learn now. For that reason I'm looking for a ready-to-use template. Something looking modern, colorful, joyful, containing icons and some nice box for pictures. I have maths and programs code to put inside my book.
Thanks again for any help.
