Can TeXMakerX support Chinese characters?

Post by netheril96 »

I am a Chinese and (of course) type Chinese a lot.Though TeXMakerX claims to support UTF-8,typing Chinese in it doesn't work well. The cursor is just not at the right place.Instead,it always appear in the middle of all Chinese characters but in effect it is at the end.

The horizontal line is a Chinese character for "one",and the status bar shows the file is encoded in UTF-8

Does it help to use a different display font? (Under Options > Configure TexMakerX > General.) Be sure to pick one you know contans the appropriate characters.

That is something like a qt/windows/courier bug that the Chinese characters are larger than the other characters even if you use a font in which all characters have the same width.

But there is a workaround (which is almost was frabjous suggested above) :
