index of all LaTeX packages

Post by páibǎn »

Is there some sort of comprehensive index of all packages that can be used in LaTeX? I don't see reference to one on http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/, and the word "packages" is so common on this forum that I despair of finding what I'm looking for in past discussion.

Thanks!

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

The TeX Catalogue OnLine might be a better place to look; in particular this page has an alphabetical list of packages.

Finding something by browsing through the hundreds of packages listed there doesn't sound like a promising way of finding things, however. But there are links to the search pages, topical, hierarchical and abbreviated lists too (at the top).
