Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ can't see images

i've installed texlive 2007 but i've decided to use Tex maker as editor.
i'm using a mac power pc G4 with Mac os X 10.4.11.
For the configuration of Tex maker i've typed for every item on the terminal $which item$ and i've wrote down the path on the preferences menu.
ì've set PdfLateX in the quick build, i compile it but in the pdf there aren't the images.
I've got the package \usepackage[dvips]{graphicx} and for example:

then if i type latex button i get: error could not start the command.

Hi valentina,

pdflatex cannot include eps-files directly. You should convert them with eps2pdf or epstopdf to pdf-format, then you can include them just using \includegraphics{abs}. Of course you may still give options to \includegraphics if you want. But write \usepackage{graphicx} without option dvips if you are using pdflatex.

hi stefan, thanks for the reply.
i get the chance to ask you another thing.
if i choose in the quick build menu the command latex+dvips+ps2pdf+view Pdf to see the images that i put in the eps format the pdf file doesn't open.
can you help me?

Hi valentina,

can you see the images in the created ps-file?
Was a dvi-file or ps-file or pdf file created? Do you get error messages?

That the pdf file doesn't open does not prove that it's not created correctly, it could even be a problem with the pdf reader.
If you attach the .log-file to a posting here, ist's possible that we could see the problem inside, if it's a LaTeX problem.

Just omit the obsolete epsfig package in your preamble.

Some additional advices that are not related to the problem.

1. The option dvips for the graphicx package can be omitted.
2. You are loading the fontenc package twice.
3. Replace the obsolete subfigure package by the subfig package.
