Write on a Part page

Post by marcb »

Hi,

I am wondering if there exists a way to write on the page of a new part ? typically, to quote someone famous ;-) Doing something like :
(sorry, i am on a mac and don't know how to make backslashes and stuff, but that's not my tool for latex, so don't mind the stuff that just don't work ;-) )

/part(title)
My favorite quote
/chapter(another title)
Blabla

This just insert a new page with "My favorite quote" written on it, but not on the same page as the title of the part... would anyone know a way to do this ?

Thanks a lot :-)

Marc

Quite funny. If you can produce a backslash in your LaTeX editor, you should also be able to type it here. Other Mac users seem to manage that. Think about the case where you have to provide larger parts of compilable code.

Sometimes a Forum Search can be very helpful [1]. The provided solution is based on the epigraph manual (Section 2.5 - Epigraphs on Part pages, p. 6).

Thorsten, you don't seem to have read what you just quoted, as he clearly states that the Mac is not his tool for LaTeX.

Of course I read. Whether a Mac is the machine for LaTeX typesetting or not, it should manage to produce a backslash wherever needed.

Of course, but on some (localized) Mac keyboards it isn't entirely obvious how to produce a backslash. The Norwegian version for instance, has no backslash printed on it (IIRC).

But forgive me, this discussion is entirely off topic.

Hi guys,

a) thank you so much for your fruitfull help !!
b) my apologies for not finding the reference in the forum !!
c) indeed, am generally under linux, and this mac keyboard has no backslash on it and as I don't use it in general at all - I am at a friend's house, to tell you everything...

Anyway, thank you sooo much !

The search function can be found in the lower left (advanced) and upper right (simple) corner of every forum page (just for your orientation).
