LyX ⇒ lyx math display problem
lyx math display problem

Symbols like $\partial, \star, \diamond$ are displayed incorrectly, replaced by @, ? etc when they are in {super, sub}scripts, compound fractions that make their size small.
This is lyx-1.6.7 running in Gentoo. I actually have a netbook running Ubuntu that does NOT have this problem, but I am not sure where the differences are.
Thanks.

lyx math display problem
Yes, exported PDF is fine. Messing with fonts--three options Romans, Sans Serif, and Typewriter--changes fonts of the text, but do not help.frabjous wrote:To be clear, the exported PDF looks fine, it's just the display on LyX? Does changing LyX's display fonts help (or at least make a difference)?

Re: lyx math display problem
Fist try to solve it with Qt configuration, as mention in
http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/Qt
does not work. Then I found ppa packages here
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/packages/show/202612
in particular the one we need is ttf-lyx
Installing it with synaptic solve the problem.
