I try to add two dots over a letter...

Post by bogdanno »

and I can't. The problem is that in my TeXnicCenter recognizes " as two characters ' and '. So the command \"{a}, which should put two dots above a, will put one ' above another. I can try \ddot in math mode but this changes the letter font or maybe I can try the package \metre but that is for latin/greek letters
What do you think, can I change smt so that the editor sees the quotation as one character?
Thx, Dan

Hi Dan,

just choose the menu Tools/ Options and uncheck Replace quotation marks, that may solve it.
By the way, you could define an equivalent macro, for instance if you use T1 font encoding:

Code: Select all

\DeclareTextAccent{\myacc}{T1}{4}
Then \myacc{a} would do it.
