"Select to ..." commands

Post by houstontyoung »

Hi,

Great work, developers, on the "Select Brace Block" command, especially with the "growing" selection. I thought about recommending this, since it is available in Mathematica and is very useful there.

I don't know if it's feasible, but here are some other ideas I think would be useful:

1. Since we have not only "(...)" but also pairs like "\left(...\right)" (and their various size variants), it would be excellent if "select brace block" would recognize this and select not what is inside the parentheses, but only up to (and not including) the "\right" (or "\bigr" or "\Bigr", etc.), and the next "growing" selection would pick up the "\left(" and "\right)". Sort of a LaTeX-aware brace selection...

2. Is a "Select to $" or "Select to =" possible? Often I'd like to select an entire expression between the math-mode "$" pairs, or I'd like to select some part of an expression between "=" signs, or possibly between "$" and "=".

Are any of these possible?

Thanks much!
