Make one column with two column layout

Post by csmgroup »

\documentclass[twoside, twocolumn]{article}

makes the document two column. The problem is that for verbatim environment, if the string is long, it looks ugly.

Is there any way to make some parts of the document as 1 column layout?

you could use the figure* environment, it's spanning over two columns.

You could also use the multicols package.
