Problems adding packages, unknown archive, corrupt?

Post by gatzke »

I am trying to install ieeetrans I am using MiKTeX Package manager 2.6.2651

I keep having troubles with installation of IEEEtrans. Does anyone else see this?

I get the "Unknown archive file type" issue when installing from a FTP repository.

I get a "The remote package may be corrupted" error when installing from a HTTP repository.

I get a crash and burn core dump about 1 in 5 changes for repository.

I tried to download the lmza file and install from local, but it did not like that either.

I installed MiKTeX as part of a LyX windows 1.5.4 install (very recent).

Any ideas?

Is there any reason not to include all the packages initially? What would it be, a few hundred MB? Some people work offline, so adding on the fly is a PITA.

Hi Ed,

have a look at MiKTeX 2.6 Known Issues, you may have to update your MiKTeX binaries as described there below Unknown archive file type.
