Hi
I need to get the following format for the footnote (at end of the first page of the paper)
Address correspondence to .....
If I use\footnote{Address correspondence to....) there will be a number before the author name and at the beginning of the text of the footnote (I didn't need it). Also the footnote will be underlined. What can I do

Re: Need a given format for the footnote
It would help greatly to know what document class you were using, but if something like article, you could use \thanks (which goes inside \author), and gets put in when you use \maketitle.

Need a given format for the footnote
\thanks{...} should work if you put it inside \author{...}, so long as the \author{...} command comes before the maketitle command. (I can't understand why you have \theauthor after \maketitle or how that is supposed to work.)
\thanks will use an asterisk rather than a number.
If you really need no number or asterisk or anything, you could put in:
{\renewcommand{\thefootnote}{}\footnotetext{Address correspondence to ...}}
(Keep the renewcommand inside the brakcets or else it'll effect all footnotes.)

Need a given format for the footnote
Hi
I didn't get the footnote.
For my case, I need the following
TITLE OF THE PAPER
AUTHOR NAME
Abstract:texte.................................................................................................................................................
Address correspondence to:
without any line above the footnote
Code: Select all
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\title{TITLE OF THE PAPER}
\author{AUTHOR NAME{\renewcommand{\thefootnote}{}\footnotetext{Address correspondence to ...}}}
\maketitle
\end{document}

Need a given format for the footnote
Code: Select all
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\title{TITLE OF THE PAPER}
\author{AUTHOR NAME}
\renewcommand{\footnoterule}{}
{\renewcommand{\thefootnote}{}\footnotetext{Address correspondence to ...}}
\maketitle
Then a bunch of stuff here.
When you want a line again, use something like:
\renewcommand{\footnoterule}{\noindent\rule[0.3ex]{1.9in}{1pt}}
\end{document}
Code: Select all
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\title{TITLE OF THE PAPER}
\author{AUTHOR NAME}
\maketitle
\begin{abstract}
This is the abstract here.
\end{abstract}
\vfill
\begin{footnotesize}
\noindent Address correspondence to:
\end{footnotesize}
\clearpage
Then more stuff.
\end{document}
