Hi, thanks again for the reply.
I put the option install-on-the-fly as "yes", but the problem is still the same.
I tried to do a full installation but it didn't work (problem with my internet connection?), they said on the website that it'll take hours to download anyway, which I don't really have at the moment.

I'm now officially frustrated  :( (since I'm trying to get this working since Friday), and I've got that important presentation to do for tomorrow.

Is there anything else you would advice ? (using another TeX system which would be quick to install or using something different from Beamer to do my presentation ? I know I could use power point but I cannot put maths formulas in it so :| ...)

If there is no other options I guess I'll have to use chalk board : thing that I really wanted to avoid (my hand writting is bad, I'm very stressed generally, I'll probably forget what I'm supposed to be doing/writting etc.) :?

Then install the class manually with the help of the package manager. I wonder why you didn't try this by now if it is so urgent.

Hi,
I've done this to get the "natbib" file and it worked !
So I was able to run my old LateX files.
Then I did the same to get beamer and it kind of worked :
It worked for two samples I downloaded for internet but for one of them (the longest one), it started downloading something but then it said :
LateX error : File "tcilatex.tex" not found.
So I tried to get it using the package manager as I did earlier but it didn't work: I couldn't find it !
Any idea to how to fix this ?

Also, in the samples that worked : one of them is good the other one looks a bit "strange" I mean the writting of the letters is a bit odd. this happens to my old files too. Is this because of LateX or because of Adobe ?
I had adobe 8 but then downloaded the latest one (version 9) just now. Does it have any link with this ?

Thanks :) !

Give a link to the source of those samples. As far as I know the »tcilatex.tex« belongs to Scientific Word (or Workplace?). If you don't use this, you won't need the concerned file.

Hi,
I'll give the link when i find it. but it's not important if I don't need tcilatex.tex :)
Is there a good sample beamer presentation I could use ?
Thanks.

I know a nice template by Cameron Bracken [1]. Very well composed for my taste.

[1] cameron.bracken.bz » A subdued, stylish beamer template
