LyX ⇒ Lyx 1.6.6 User Interface Language doesn't change to german

Hi everybody!

I just installed Lyx 1.6.6 with the Installer Bundle on Windows 7 32 bit (german), everything seems to be proper installed - but the User Interface Language won't change to german. I started Lyx as Admin, tried reconfigure and everything else. The whole user interface is still english, but in the preferences the chosen language is shown as german.
Is there any solution to this problem? Google and search here in the forum did not help, at least i didn't find anything.

Hi!

I have the same problem under Win7 (32bit, system language is German) with the new LyX version 1.6.6. I uninstalled LyX 1.6.5 and then installed version 1.6.6 using the official installer. I encountered several problems with the new installer and LyX 1.6.6:

1) After changing the interface language to German and restarting LyX, the GUI is still in English although the change of the preferences has been saved. LyX 1.6.5 changes to German strings automatically.
2) The info file being opened when starting LyX for the first time is also in English. LyX 1.6.5 will load the German translation instead.
3) When selecting a file in the help menu, no file will open in LyX 1.6.6.
4) The installer wont detect my existing MikTex 2.8 setup (I have to select the folder containig tex.exe manually) proposing to download MikTex. The LyX 1.6.5 installer detects MikTex properly.
5) The uninstaller wont actually delete the LyX-Folder in the AppData-Directory when I choose to delete all settings during uninstallation. The uninstaller of LyX 1.6.5 deletes the configuaration files properly.

Problems have been solved (except for the detection of an existing MikTex installation) with version 1.6.6.1.

Hi,

I have a problem I think is related. I Use a US keyboard, write & read best in English but have a PC with Swiss-German localisation (I wwork in Basel).

After I upgraded to LyX 1.6.6 from 1.6.5 (on Win XP) my GUI menus are all in German. When I change the language in options they say GUI in Englisch (or Englisch UK) but it never changes. I see from forums/ Google search there is an issue like this for MAC but I have no plist file

So after finding the above thread I have upgraded to 1.6.6.1 - but same problem!

I really hope there is a way to fix this - or I have to buy a mac.

for the record now with 1.6.6.1 and changing my system language to English it is OK - i.e. menus etc. now in English.
