Page Layout ⇒ chapter headings long and short

Hi All.

I searched the forum for and all I found was the exact question I would like some help with with no response. (http://www.latex-community.org/forum/vi ... =19&t=4056)

I'll resubmit it here.

Using \chapter[short]{long} produces short in the TOC and at the top of every page of the chapter, and long as the chapter title.

Is there any way to make short appear at the top of every page and long appear in the TOC and chapter title?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check out titlesec package, p.8 (option "toctitles").
