PDF printing problem with tables included as graphics

Post by ddenton »

I am having problems printing PDF documents generated with Miktex 2.7 PDFtexify. In particular, I am preparing tables in Excel, creating PDFs with them using Accrobat Distiller (Acrobat v. 7), cropping them using Acrobat to remove the excess white space, and then including them in Latex documents using \includegraphics. The documents are printed on a Postscript printer. A very simple example of the printed output is attached.

This workflow described above has worked for us many, many times in the past, and now, suddenly, we have printing problems. The documents look letter perfect on the screen, but when they print there are sometimes problems such as that shown in the attached PDF (scan of printed output) with certain letters overprinting on top of the letter before.

I am wondering whether anyone has seen this kind of printing problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
