Hi i am trying to add chapters for my thesis and trying the following command
\chapter{CHAPTER TITLE}

When i am trying to build the file it doesnot show me the chapter name in the pdf file. Can anyone help me on this?

It seems that you are using a class without chapters. But I can only guess. So, please provide a minimal working example (MWE) that shows exactly the undesired behaviour.

Your request is placed in the wrong forum. This is a general LateX issue and therefore should placed in the general LaTeX forum (here is a sub forum of TeXnicCenter).
