Hi, first, I'd like to say that I um new to this, so plz be kind to me if I do lack obviously common knowledge...
I'm using a special German keyboard layout, called neo, which allows me to enter special unicode characters directly from the keyboard. (See the link; by hovering the "Ebene" labelled boxes, you can see the different available characters)
My problem is now that I couldn't find a way to make Lyx/its converting backend allow me to use these characters in normal text (there is an error message when trying to get a pdf and some chars aren't even displayed).
If you need further details about the problem(s) I encountered, do ask.

Noone there knowing an answer...?
Inserting unicode characters into a document...
As far as I know, LyX should support Unicode input. There's a page about it in the LyX wiki here. It says on that page to contact the developers if there are Unicode characters it can't handle, so you might want to do that if the info on that page isn't enough to get it working.

According to that page, I'll have to use XeTeX as backend, right?frabjous wrote:As far as I know, LyX should support Unicode input. There's a page about it in the LyX wiki here.
