MathTimes pfb files

Post by xinsaccnt »

Hi, I met this strange problem but don't know how to solve it. I use WinEdt 5.5 and MikTex 2.6. When I write some item into the tex file, like
\begin{itemize}
\item a
\end{itemize}

It could be successfully compiled. However, when I try to view it in dvi, the following errors occur:

MikTek Problem Report
"Not all fonts could be loaded. See 'File->Document Properties', for details."
After clicking ok, I have another warning:

"This is dvips(k) 5.96 Copyright 2007 Radical Eye Software (http://www.radicaleye.com)
' TeX output 2007.12.15:1052' ->
<C:/Program Files/MiKTeX 2.6/dvips/base/tex.pro>
<C:/Program Files/MiKTeX 2.6/fonts/enc/dvips/fontname/8r.enc>
<C:/Program Files/MiKTeX 2.6/dvips/base/texps.pro>
<C:/Program Files/MiKTeX 2.6/dvips/base/special.pro>.
C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.6\miktex\bin\dvips.exe: ! Couldn't find font file mtsy.pfb"

I have tried to find mtsy.pfb but I didn't exist under MikTex2.6 folder. There is ''mtsy.tfm'' but not ''mtsy.tfm''. I didn't find any resources to download this file. As someone said, there should be a folder under fonts, 'yandy' for 'mathtimes'. I don't have any.

Could someone give me some help or suggestions? Thank you very much. :D

As far as I know the font set you are seeking is a commercial one by Y&Y (yandy). All I found about that are two links which might help you [1,2]. Have you thought about using another font? There would be many alternatives.

[1] Y&Y TeX - TeX Users Group
[2] mtpro2 - PCTeXWeb

Hi,

I hav the same problem. I am trying to work with mathtime. I got the packet and install the files. However when I try to create the output with TexnicCenter I get the same error: Couldn't find font mtsy.pfb.

The font could not be found as I do not have this file. I anyone knows how to solve this problem or has this file I am missing please help!
