General ⇒ Entering Extended Mode

Hello all,

I have texnic center and miktex on new operation system Vista.


Until now, when I was using XP, everything was fine but now I have installed Texnic Center under Vista and I open a tex file and try to compile it with pdfTex.

It says "entering extended mode" and hangs. It takes minutes until I show any other message again.

Does anyone know, why it takes so long?

here is where the compiler (pdftex) stays not doing anything for minutes:

After that nothing happens!

I need your help, I really don't know what else to do

I met the same problem, and seems it is downloading sth. It finish building after few minutes.
