How do you put a LoF and LoT in the LoC?

Post by Artemis »

As the subject header says guys, I am being continuously marked down on my reports because the LoF and LoT are separate entities (and the markers seem to have a fetisch for TeX) i.e.

\listofcontents
\listoftables
\listoffigures

How do I get the LoC to show the LoT and LoF? Like this

Contents

List of Tables .......................... 1
List of Figures ......................... 2
Introduction ........................... 3
Flight Dynamics ....................... 4
...

Currently it is just sticking the LoT and LoF under the LoC and not including them in the latter.

Just for clarification. There is neither a \listofcontents command nor a List of Contents (LoC). What you mean is called the \tableofcontents command and the Table of Contents (ToC).

Regarding your problem you should take a look at the tocbibind package.

Oh... yes that is what I meant, sorry about that. I have been trying about 20 different commands this evening so I got muddled. Apologies, and thank you for the welcome!
