Cite author's name only

Post by zohar »

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to cite an author's name only, without corrupting the way \cite works in the document. All solutions I found involve natbib, which does give a nice solution and enough flexibility. The problem is that the journal that you publish to usually uses its own bib style, which almost always seems to clash with natbib with something about \bibhang already defined.

I wouldn't want to change the bib definition of a journal, but I still would like in some places to cite the author's name before the reference, in the style of: This guy \citename{..} \cite{..} did this and that.

Thanks.
