Hi,
I want to place a figure and a table side by side in latex. I have read about the \minipage and \subfigure packages but these are for placing two figures or two table side by side (unless I'm missing something). What I want is a single figure and a single table to be side by side with each having its own label and caption.
Please help! and thanks in advance

Placing a single figure and a single table side by side
The caption manual (Section 4.1, Example 4) introduces an interesting alternative to the example that gmedina pointed to.
