Number pages from the first and use 'abstract'?

Post by karlisrepsons »

Hi,
in the beginning of my document I have '\begin{titlepage}' and then later '\begin{abstract}'.
titlepage and abstract environments are messing with pagenumbers in such a way, that without any "enhancement" its NOT possible to use them and number pages from the "cover", so all readers show up the right page!
How can it be done?! If that is hard, the whole 'abstract' environment starts loosing sense in this case... Note, that its 'report' documentclass.

(and, when I previously wanted to start numbering pages from where TOC has ended, I had to add idiotic '\setcounter{page}{-100}' in several places at titlepage and abstract (plus made "jumps" in the internal pagenumbers) just for backrefs of bibliography to work well... :( )

Well, whatever, it was much easier to avoid using those environments...

Just for the record. Title pages are never numbered. For the rest there may be a solution.
