Another issue, this time concerning usability:

The possibility to hide and expand text in the editor by pressing on the "+"- and "-"-icons left to the text is nice. However, the icons are placed too close to the text. It happens to me too often that I unintentionally hide text and then have to figure out why I don't see the text anymore.

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Hi TXC Developers,

first of all, TXC 2.0 Alpha is great! Please keep on going this developments :-)

Version 1012 has the following bugs on my computer:

Bookmarks are not working. Neither when selecting the corresponding menu items nor from keyboard shortcuts. Place/Delete Bookmark doesn't have any effect. If I click on the left grey boarder beside the text, then a blue mark is placed (I guess this is a bookmark).

If I select "go to previous bookmark" then the menu item text "Vorheriges Lesezeichen" is inserted as text into my document ;-/

Best,
Stefan.

Another usability issue: The new version takes much longer to start (and also much more memory).

Another usability issue: If a section is hidden and one searches text which occurs in the hidden part, then the user interface provides insufficient feedback to the user to make it clear to him that the search result is also hidden. Maybe the search should unhide the hidden part?

Nothing will be done about that. TeXnicCenter 2 has a more sophisticated user interface and offers a richer feature set than the previous version which raises the memory usage by a few megabytes.
