General ⇒ What do the Find 1 and Find 2 panels do?

I was playing around with the new TXC this afternoon and I realized that I have never used the Find 1 or Find 2 panels, either in the previous version or this one. In fact, I can't remember ever seeing anything in those panels, just a blank. I tried doing a search while the Find 1 panel was open, thinking that it would display something related to the search, but nothing showed up. Ditto when I did a search/replace. I searched the documentation and also came up with a blank.

What do those panels do? How should I use them?

These panels are used only by the 'Find in files' function.
