Math & Science ⇒ Make one line of an equation smaller

I have an multline equation and one line is too big. There is no way to break it into two lines because it is a very long fraction so I need to make the font size smaller. Is there an easy way to do that?

You might try the \mathsmaller command provided by the relsize package.
