General ⇒ EPS files not visible in PDF

Hi there,
I'm using LEd and TexLive2007.
When i try to include some graphics (*.eps) into my document:

and i build whole project, DVI file is ok - there is some (grayscale?) picture, but when i try to convert to pdf
(DVI->PDF),i get following error:

and of course there is nopicture in PDF
What's about this PDF version ?? if there is any limit how can i change it ?

Hi warzywo,

welcome to the LaTeX Community board!
Do you use dvipdfm? Perhaps it could be changed in its configuration. Can you post its configuration file? The path may look like C:\TeXLive2007\texmf-var\dvipdfm\config\config.
Alternatively you could try dvips together with ps2pdf.

V 2, 3 max. but as i can see i will need 1.4 or not ?

Hi warzywo,

changing that line to V 4 may work, just try it. I've seen a similar problem here, where changing V 2 to V 3 solved the same problem with pdf version 1.3.

cool it works !
And now if i have .eps file with some gradient color and in pdf there is normal color - it depends on the editor .eps file was created with ? Am i thinking right ?

I have no idea yet what happened to the color. Perhaps you could show the eps and pdf file, give a link or post them as attachment.

the original problem of the topic author has been solved. Did you try the solution?
Is your problem exactly the same, do you get the same error message like written in the first post of this topic? If not, then tell us more details like error messages and perhaps post your .log file as attachment.

I looked at the error message. It is not the same. I've included the error below for one particular figure,
other errors were similar. I am also attaching the log file.
