Will TXC come for Windows 7?

Post by Montag »

Hello,

will you guys develop a version of TeXnicCenter for Windows 7? :)

If maybe so, when?

Just try the new alpha version of TeXnicCenter. It has been released today. You can get it from its homepage. I had the opportunity for a short test and had no problems (on XP). I will continue testing tomorrow and report here by supplementing my short review.

Best regards

Hi Enrico,

I have tested TXC 1 and the new 2 Alpha 1 on Windows Vista without any problems. Only the installation requires administration rights -- afterwards everything works smoothly even for a user without admin rights.

As the step from Vista to Windows 7 is not a big one (in contrast to the one from XP to Vista), I do not see any problems regarding Windows 7 support. If there will occur any problems, I am sure, that the developers will fix them.

TeXnicCenter 2.0 runs just fine on Windows 7 32-Bit.

Just a quick note: A native x64 version of TeXnicCenter will be available as well.
