PDF Texify doesn't work through WinEdt but PDF LaTeX does!

Post by moatox »

Hello all!

I've got a new machine and trying to get winedt5.5/MiKTeX2.7 to work on it. The short story is that when running PDF TeXify, it stops short of showing the document and aborts the whole process. That is to say, there is no PDF document in the folder either although it takes its time and pretends to be working before! No error message!

However, using PDF LaTeX is just fine - I would have to write the name of the file though and open it manually.

I'm getting the sense that this is a trivial problem but still can't get my head around it! Tried to fiddle with the Execution Modes from the Options menu but with no success - any idea?

Cheers

I found this answer by Karl Koeller:

This has nothing to do with WinEdt.....

pdftexify (as well as other tex tools), when something goes wrong, prompts the user for typing something.

If you press 'x' the program terminates, while if you press 'e' it redirects you to the line of the file where an error has occured.
If you want to proceed, simply hit 'enter'.

M.
