Hello
Hi, I'm writing a math thesis and it is the first non trivial thing I've written in LaTex (I'm kind of the pencil and paper type when it comes to math). I've picked it up very quickly for the most part, and I'm writing within a document class and template provided by the school (they like uniformity I guess) which is very helpful but I'm finding myself running into brick walls from time to time. At the moment I can't seem to make my bibliography look like anything but gibberish (I'm going to post about that in the bibtex section). Also a few formating issues. I'm looking forward to having somewhere to turn to when I start to want to throw something at my computer. I apologize in advance if I ask anything profoundly stupid. I've been reading though old theses (like from the 50s and earlier) which are written on a typewriter with any special symbols written in by hand in every copy and coming very much to appreciate LaTex. Nice to "meet" all of you.

Re: Hello
Concerning math pencil and paper are very good for me (a physicist), too. But with LaTeX you've got the right tool to get your stuff from the computer to paper again with a good result. (La)TeX is unsurpassed in math typesetting. Your requests are welcome.
