Lyx Spell Check Problem

Hi all. New to Lyx.

I use a mac and am having problems activating the spell check on lyx. I've downloaded cocoaspell and ispell and have set the spell check preference to each of the respective programs at different times. It's not working. Can anyone give me some advice here?
