How to add line breaks in biblabel

Hi!

I am looking for a solution for the following problem: I would like to have a line break after each label in the bibliography. What I would like to have is:

[Label1]
Author1, title1, year
[Label2]
Author2, title2, year
...

I have tried to redefine the biblabel command in the preamble:

\renewcommand{\@biblabel}[1]{[\textbf{#1}]\linebreak}

But it does not work... :?

Any suggestions?

Hi,

which document class are you using?

Edit: regardless of the document class used (at least if it is one of the standard ones), you can try adding something like this in the preamble:

\makeatletter
\def\@bibitem#1{\item\mbox{}\par
  \if@filesw\immediate\write\@auxout
    {\string\bibcite{#1}{\the\value{\@listctr}}}\fi\ignorespaces}
\makeatother
Edit2: if you are using natbib or other package(s) to format your bibliography, my suggestion won't work; in this case, please give us all the relevant information about packages, styles, etc. that you use to build your bibliography.
