Conversion Tools ⇒ import OO Writer tables containing Japanese characters

Hello, I would like to import into Lyx/Latex (with XeTex) tables written with OO Writer with Japanese characters?
I tried doing an export from Writer to Latex and then a Latex import into Lyx, but the Asian characters are not recognised and I get only their codes.

EDIT I found a temporary solution by exporting the table into pdf and then importing the file into Latex/Lyx Anyhow I am not sure how nice it will come out typographically. On the screen looks acceptable.
