tex files sent as attachments with gmail seem to get corrupt

Post by Don »

Upon saving a tex file sent that was sent as an attachment to an email sent using gmail, I find that I cannot open such a tex file with TeXnic. Can anyone
help with this problem?

Hm that is odd as I have not encountered that problem since tex files are usually just plain text files. What encoding are you using on your tex file? iso 8859 or ... ? You can also just zip up the tex file and then email it. That should force gmail to send the attachment as binary.
