figure occupying whole page problem

Post by fenghedo »

Hi all,

I am writing my dissertation using latex. One thing that bothers me is that a figure of big size would occupy one whole page, leaving much blank spaces unused. I remember there was a percentage parameter that I can set to specify how big a figure would occupy the whole page from a long time ago. For example, I could set it to 85% and this would mean that as long as the figure is occupying less than 85% of the page size, the blank spaces will be filled with text. However, I do not remember what it was. Could someone please help me out?

Thanks.
