beamer | Slide Show

Post by cirasj »

I have a beamer file and would like to create a slide show that will play my file automatically, that is loop my presentation. Is there a way to set a time between slide as you can do in a PowerPoint slideshow?

I could be wrong, but I think this is usually done with the PDF viewing software. E.g., in Acrobat reader 9, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Full Screen, and then check the buttons for "Loop after last page" and "Advance every XX seconds". If you need more time on a given slide as opposed to others, I think the \transduration{#} command from beamer might override what you set there. (Where "#" is the number of seconds you want it to appear.)

These only work in Full Screen or Presentation viewing mode.

I've never done this personally, so others might know more.

Thank you for the information. It was just what I was looking to do. I have been using Acrobat for years in full screen mode and did not know you could to that. I will try \transduration{#} later to see it that works.

Okular doesn't have that option. It's not possible to start a presentation automatically at opening the file, but I'm sure that I've seen beamer presentations that can start automatically. There must be a way to do that, but I don't really know how.
