General ⇒ Flowcharts in LaTeX

Can someone help me in making flowcharts in LaTeX. I have read about ConText, but haven't found sufficient tutorials online, can someone help me in the same.

Is there a plugin for gedit, which may be useful.

Use pgf/tikZ and take a look at its manual. There also exists an example gallery [1]. It might help you with the first steps.
