package won't install

Post by juliette »

Is the tipa package part of MiKTeX ??
I've been trying to run a script with \usepackage{tipa} for the first time, and I get the message during compile time: "The required file \tex\latex\tipa\tipa.sty is missing. It is part of the following package: Name: tipa, Title: Fonts and macros for IPA phonetics characters. The package will be installed from: ftp://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/CTAN/s ... /packages/ .. and when I click install .. texnicCenter freezes ... or seems to be taking extremely long to install the package.

It's never taken this long .. does anybody know what might be wrong ??

Hi Juliette,

tipa is supported by MiKTeX, it can be seen here. You could use the MiKTeX package manager to install that package: Start/ MiKTeX/ Browse packages.
