Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Texmaker doesn't start

Hi,

I'm running Fedora Core 7 on a Dell Latitude C600 with 256MB of ram. When I try to load Texmaker, I see the "starting Texmaker" icon in the lower panel for a few seconds, but this disappears and nothing happens. Any ideas?
