problem in installing texnicenter

Post by pallav »

I am facing problem in installing texnicenter.
I am using win xp. I have installed basic-miktex-2.6.2742, gsview, gs862w32 and lastly texnicenter_Beta7_50. When I open texnicenter, a configuration wizard page opened. It tells "Be sure, that you have already installed a tex-distribution........". I press next and it tells to "enter the full path of the didectory, where the executables(latex, tex etc) of your Tex-distribution are located".
I am unable to give the path.
Is Tex-distribution another software which is to be installed? If yes, from where I get it?

I am a layman is this matter. Please help me someone in details so that I can overcome my problem. Please....

At first you should get the current versions of all the software you need.
  • GPL Ghostscript 8.64
  • GSview 4.9
  • MiKTeX 2.7
  • TeXnicCenter 1.0 RC1
After installation (in this sequence) start TeXnicCenter (TXC) and give the following path for the MikTeX executables.

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7\miktex\bin
The path can differ in dependence on the language of your system.
